It is situated in Madhya Pradesh. You all would Know that the face of Shivalinga is towards east, But the face of this Jyotirlinga is toward south. People believe that the south direction is associated with death. Therefore devotees pray here to save themselves from sudden death. 4.Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, Located on Shivpuri Island in Madhya Pradesh, is believed to be like the symbol of Om. According to a legend, when the demons were victorious in a battle with the gods, Mahadev took the form of Omkareshwar and defeated both of them. 5. Kedarnath is the highest Jyotirlinga in Uttarakhand. During the rainy season this Jyotirlinga gets absorbed in water. 7. Vishveshwar Jyotirlinga It is located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and is also famous by the name of Kashi Vishwanth. Varanasi was earlier called Kashi. Like somnath, this temple has also been demolished and rebuilt many times. 8.Towards Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga in Maharashtra, this jyotirlinga has three Faces which represent Mahadev Vishnu and Brahma in which the trinity is worshipped. 9. According to Ramseherver Jyotirlinga, when Shri Ram was returning after killing Ravana, he worshiped lord shiva here to save himself form the sin of killing a Brahmin and a devotee of Shiva. To perform the Puja, Sita ji hereself had made a Shivalinga made of clay, here it is also called Ramlinga. 12. Ghushmeshwar is also Known as Ghrishneshwar or Kusumeshwar. This Jyotirlinga is Located in Maharashtra and its explanation is also found in Shiv Purana and Padma Purana. This is the smallest in India.
