Even Mahmud of Ghazni took away a lot of gold from this temple located in Gujarat. 2.Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga is Located in the Mallikarjuna Swany temple in Andhra Pradesh. It is believed that Lord Shiva appeared in the name of Arjun on the new moon day and goddess Parvati in the name of Mallika on the full moon day, form which this temple gets its name. 3. It is situated in Madhya Pradesh. You all would Know that the face of Shivalinga is towards east, But the face of this Jyotirlinga is toward south. People believe that the south direction is associated with death. Therefore devotees pray here to save themselves from sudden death. 4.Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, Located on Shivpuri Island in Madhya Pradesh, is believed to be like the symbol of Om. According to a legend, when the demons were victorious in a battle with the gods, Mahadev took the form of Omkareshwar and defeated both of them. 5. Kedarnath is the highest Jyotirlinga in Uttarakhand. Like somnath, this temple has also been demolished and rebuilt many times. 8.Towards Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga in Maharashtra, this jyotirlinga has three Faces which represent Mahadev Vishnu and Brahma in which the trinity is worshipped. 9. Vaidyanath jyotirlinga is situated in Maharashtra only. To become powerful, he offered gifts to his friends lord Shiva. Then Lord Shiva filled his Dhawan with the help of a vidya. 10. This Jyotirlinga is Located in Maharashtra and its explanation is also found in Shiv Purana and Padma Purana. This is the smallest in India.
